The Tower of London is the oldest building in London and the preeminent symbol of its legacy. Built on the location where William the Conqueror died on his way back from defeating Harold II, it has withstood both fire and siege, and at over 800 years old it remains an impressive relic to this day. It is home to many historical artifacts such as cordials made from human hair, a 7ft glass beheaded Anne Boleyn breast, numerous prison cells which held some of England’s most fearsome villains, statues of Henry VIII’s two wives Elizabeth Woodville and Anne Neville along with later Tudor queens consort Jane Seymour and Catherine Howard who were beheaded here in 1541.
